Call Upon the Dog!

The dog has been considered man’s best friend for a very long time. They are commonly associated with loyalty, protection, companionship and service. They have been domesticated companions who at times may have been sacrificed for the benefit of the group or it’s master. In different native tribes they are valuable members of the community, they are babysitters, they help carry loads, they have served as protectors and assisted in the hunting.

In ancient China dogs held an important place and they had several myths related to them, they were so important that it became one of their totem animals that are part of their zodiac calendar. One of their most famous myth is the story of Panhu. This story is found in various clans and they are written by different people. The story goes that there was a legendary Emperor Di Ku of the Gaoxin clan who owned a dog named Panhu. Panhu helped him win a war by killing the enemy general and bringing him his head and ended up with marriage to the emperor’s daughter as a reward. The emperor later regrets this and tries to get her back, but he is unable due to bad weather that magically appears. The dog carried his bride to the mountainous region of the south, where they produced numerous progeny. It is said that Panhu’s wife gives birth to six girls and six boys. They intermarry and have children and their numbers grow. These people then live in the mountains and rule over themselves. This story was written by Fan Ye in the fifth century about the “Southern Savages”. Because they identify themselves as descendants of Panhu, the Yao people and the She people has tabooed eating dog meat.

In my own shamanic practice dog was the third spirit ally to show up. I was in a journey in which the goal was to share and spend quality time with my spirit allies. We were in the underworld by our favorite river. As we were all sharing dog came and did a little dance on his hind legs. I laugh and clapped as he danced. It was a very fun and joyous moment for all of us. He sat, we welcomed him and then we talked. I had asked him what he was here for and he said that he was very eager to help me in my shamanic journey and he told me that he was an excellent tracker of souls. I said ok show me and I let him lead the way. Before I recognized it, I was on the street that I grew up in and he led me to the front of my home. My heart started to pound at this point. As I walked in I saw myself sitting on the sofa crying and I knew exactly which day and event this was. It was my 12th birthday and I remember that no one had showed up for my birthday party and I was very heart broken. It was truly and event did changed me forever (however I never expected that I had suffered soul loss at that time). Dog started to explain to me the reasons why the people were unable to come. As he was doing so my heart lifted and my feelings of rejection buried deep within my heart felt dissolved. I welcomed this part of me that had been left in time. I showed dog my appreciation for bringing this part of me back and I started to return from the journey. I shared with a fellow shaman John (who was present at that time as this happened during the shaman circles that I facilitate) my experience and he did the seal in with his rattle and welcomed me back. It was quite a wonderful and unforgettable experience. Since then dog is an integral part of my soul retrieval team, he has been present in all of the soul retrievals I have performed. He is always eager to find the souls and bring healing to those who seek it.

If you are journeying and you see or interact with dog maybe it is time for you to volunteer for something purely in the spirit of service. You need to remain determined and resolute no matter what adversity you meet along the way. You should show your appreciation, loyalty and cherish those who you love.

Call upon the Dog when you…

… have been working on a project and your resolve is beginning to fade.

… are feeling lonely and in need of companionship.

… feel you need protection.

… feel like giving up.

… when you need help tracking a soul in non-ordinary reality.

February Wondrous New Moon in Pisces

nmpc315_zpsdb9d6645

This moon is following the Quickening Full Moon. Which is a moon that is known for it signaling the new life that is about to spring froward. We know that the warmth will be returning soon and we are in the Earth’s cycle of readying ourselves to plant the seeds. As we attune our spiritual life with the Earth’s energy we too are now in the planning stage, this new moon’s energy will be very helpful in plotting our course.

With Pisces being the last sign of the zodiac it can see the whole picture.  Pisces lives in the underwater world of the dream-time which lends it’s energy to accomplish wonderful dream-work. This is place and the time to use our imagination to help create  and imagine how we want our desires and plans to take root and come into fruition. It is in the hidden places of our psyche where we come face to face with our own shadow self and come know and accept it. Pisces is a water sign and it means that all these things go closely connected with emotions, which support works that are to accomplish emotional healing.

This new moon is full of possibilities for personal as well as spiritual self-improvement. You can choose to experiment with dream work this evening. This is a perfect time to work with our higher-self to do reprogramming and goal setting for the upcoming season. Some like to create vision boards as part of their spiritual works. You can let your imagination loose and imagine a better world for you and your loved ones or you can just simply use this time to heal from emotional wounds.

As a person that applies shamanic practices to her spiritual life I have a couple of shamanic journeys that I can suggest for to do during this time:

  • You can journey to your spirit allies to retrieve a ritual to help you heal and move on from a particular emotional wound.
  • You can journey to your spirit allies to ask if they can reveal to you what self-limiting belief is keeping you from attaining a particular goal.
  • You can journey to your spirit allies to ask how you can bring into manifestation one of your goals.
  • You can journey to a water deity and ask how you can honor and show your appreciation for all the gifts and healing it brings into your life.

If you decide to go work in the dream-time and you feel a little crafty you can make a sacred bath to set the mood and get your body, mind and spirit  ready for the intentions of the evening. You can also craft an eye pillow that facilitate your transition smoother into the dream world. If you have a Selenite candle holder or just a piece of it keep by your night stand this evening as it helps you to recall the dreams had.

Personal Update – Follow Up on Soul Retrieval Case Studies

d2212bbbbf149cd64c6f494e09cabaa3

In October of 2014 I was lucky and blessed enough to be able to attend Sandra Ingerman’s Soul Retrieval workshop. There I got meet some wonderful people. The wonderful part of this workshop is that you not only learn a new technique but you also experience the process and the healing it brings into your own life.

In order for me to complete the learning process I had to complete some case studies on the newly learned skill which is what has kept me so busy these past 4 months. During this time I have been dedicating all available time to performing soul retrievals. I have finally completed the big bulk of them and I am excited to say that I have already submitted my case studies for Sandra Ingerman’s review.

I am happy to say that she was pleased with my work and now I am listed in her Practitioner List. Sandra suggest for anyone looking for a shamanic teacher or practitioner to read this message. If you are interested in the topic of soul retrieval she recommends for you to read the following books  Soul Retrieval: Mending the Fragmented Self and Welcome Home: Following’s Your Soul’s Journey. I have read both and they are excellent resources.

I want to send my gratitude and love to all of those wonderful people who chose to be part of  my case study and allowed me to be part of their life’s journey. Each and every case was unique and I learned so much from them. I also want to give my love and gratitude to the helping spirits and teachers who helps me along the way.

This is the original post made looking for volunteers.
